In 2003, Lt. Governor Mary Donohue, along with State Agriculture Commissioner Nathan L. Rudgers and State Commissioner of Motor Vehicles Raymond P. Martinez, unveiled New York's "Ag Tag" custom license plate, the proceeds from which will benefit the New York Agriculture in the Classroom Program.
Standard Initial Fee - $53.75 ($25 annual renewal fee)
Personalized Initial Fee - $85.00 ($56.25 annual renewal fee)
Twenty-five dollars ($25) of the annual renewal fee will be deposited to the credit of the "Agriculture in the Classroom Fund".
The first series of passenger plates will range from 100-999AGR. Commercial plates will have four numbers followed by two letters, which will be taken from the next available sequence. Personalized plates have a limit of six spaces.
These plates are available for passenger and commercial vehicles. The International Symbol of Access is available on both types of plates for those who qualify.
These plates are available to anyone who has a passenger or commercial vehicle registered in New York State.
