Funding from this plate has impacted 80,000 students in 2014 with lessons, materials, volunteers and teacher training. Annually up to $60K is distributed in grants to schools, FFA, 4-H and other Non-profit programs for Ag education initiatives by the Maine Agriculture in the Classroom Council.

2016 Teacher of the Year Applications Are Posted!

Each year, MAITC recognizes an outstanding Maine elementary or secondary school teacher who uses agriculture education materials and/or activities in the classroom to teach core subjects. The winning teacher is presented the award at our Annual Meeting in October and will win an all expense paid trip to Phoenix, Arizona on June 20 - 24, 2016 for the National AITC Conference and $300 sponsorship for their classroom. Teachers may apply themselves or be nominated by a peer.

2015 Maine AITC Grants

Thirty-eight eligible MAITC grant applications were received requesting almost $90K! They have all been reviewed and scored by the panel. MAITC will be announcing the winners of the $60K grant program this week and inviting them to pick up their checks at a banquet held in their honor in Southern Maine on the evening of August 6th.
[Winners unable to attend will receive their checks in the mail by September 30th.}

2015 National CHS Grant Available

National AITC has announced a CHS Classroom Grant program. One grant will be awarded for $1500 in the Eastern Region. The online application can be found here.
