Major projects accomplished this year
  • Farm City Festivals and Ag Days continue to be our most successful method of getting our message to teachers and their students. In 2005 there were seven events held in Nevada reaching nearly 15,000 students. The largest event continues to be in Las Vegas with presenters traveling from all over the state to help. There were 35 different stations to visit and over 100 volunteers. The FFA State Officers continue to do the introduction area and always impress younger students and teachers with their professionalism and enthusiasm. A new station this year was "Myths in Agriculture" and it received great comments.

Major impacts the program had this year

  • Getting teachers to commit to the time requirements of in-service workshops has become a major obstacle and resulted in three cancellations of workshops.
  • We received 72 requests for materials due to visits to our website. Over half of those requests were for the Nevada Commodity Posters.
