Classroom Resources
We created a Kansas Educator Guide for Natural Resources. This 220 page guide is meant to provide information to teachers about Kansas biomes, water resources, crops, plants and wildlife species and their interaction with and connection to natural resources. It is designed for 5th grade students and teachers. It is available in hard copy upon request.

Participants received training for a variety of Ag-based hands-on learning labs; receive resource materials: shared ideas that work; practiced presentation skills; networked with others.

Who attended? County Farm Bureau Ag Ed. Volunteers; Ag Educators, Extension Educators and Volunteers, Youth Volunteers, Conservation District Managers.

Summer Session Courses

49 Kansas Teachers received three graduate credit hours after attending week long summer session courses: Connecting Agriculture to the Classroom; Exploring Internet Resources; Connecting Agriculture to the Classroom; Horticulture & School Gardens Olathe

Agri-Tag

Since January 2007 we have 287 Agri-tags on the road, generating slightly over $7000 in income.

Major Program Impacts
See above. We will be measuring impact this next year with surveys for teachers and students on their use of the Educator Guides and Kansas Kid Connection Magazines as well as information provided by assemblies. Our surveys following our summer school courses indicate teachers found the training valuable. Each teacher generated high quality lesson plans as a part of their coursework. These were reviewed by their professors and the best were chosen to be featured on our website under teacher-generated lesson plans.
