Agriculture In the Classroom

What is Agriculture in the Classroom?

The Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) program is coordinated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Its goal is to help students gain a greater awareness of the role of agriculture in the economy and society, since many children today have no family connection to the farm.

The program is carried out in each state, according to state needs and interests, by individuals representing farm organizations, agribusiness, education and government. In Ohio the AITC program is coordinated by staff in Ohio Farm Bureau Federation's Communications division. County Farm Bureau members work with teachers and students to integrate agricultural information. Find out below about some of our projects and materials or check out the store pages. Contact us for more information on teachers workshops held around the state .
